Use Ivy Alert® Sensing Swabs on outdoor footwear,
hiking and hunting gear, gardening tools, golf clubs,
sporting equipment or as a quick check for clothes or
camping gear. Instantly check to see if suspicious yard,
garden or campsite plants are really Poison Ivy, Oak
or Sumac.
Ivy Alert® Sensing Swabs work by lifting urushiol
from sampled surfaces with surfactant solution, pre-treated
swab tip and revealing the urushiol with swab reagent
solution.
To use, completely wet the rayon tip of the swab with
surfactant solution. Swab the surfaces you wish to sample
for urushiol. Replace the swab firmly into the tube.
Bend the bulb neck, squeeze and shake the swab to mix
the reagents and solution. Observe for the formation
of any black residue. The formation of any black residue
on the swab or darkening of the solution is a positive
test and indicates the presence of a known skin irritant
and immediate action should be taken to clean the contaminated
area. Dispose of used products carefully, particularly
if urushiol has been detected.
Ivy Alert® Guarantees this product will detect
as little as 0.001 mG/mL of Poison Ivy irritant, urushiol.
Ivy Alert® swabs and patches do not physically protect against
or remove any skin irritant, nor are they designed or
intended to diagnose, manage or treat any medical condition.

Instructions for Use
- Identify the limits of the surface you wish to
sample to insure you will get useful information from
the test.
- Grasp the tube base and gently separate the bulb
and sampling swab from the tube base. Do not bend
the bulb neck.
- Completely pre-wet the surface of the swab tip with
1-2 drops of surfactant solution.
- Holding the sampling swab by the bulb or shaft rub
the swab tip firmly over the area to be sampled. Rotate
the swab tip on the surface while sampling. Do not
bend the bulb neck.
- Firmly place the sampling swab back into tube base.
Do not allow swab tip to contact other surfaces.
- Holding the swab upright bend the bulb neck to snap
the liquid seal and squeeze the bulb to release the
developing solution into the tube base. Tap tube base
to mix reagents well. Keep used swab sealed to contain
developing solution.
- Observe the swab tip and developing solution for
one minute for any color change. The formation of
any black residue on the swab or darkening of the
developing solution is a positive test and indicates
the presence of a known skin irritant and immediate
action should be taken to cleanse the contaminated
area.

Please review this information and
all warnings before use
Ivy Alert® Sensing Swabs are designed for the
detection of the irritating sap and oils (urushiol)
produced by the Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac plant family. Urushiol is a potent skin
irritant and should be avoided or, if present, removed
immediately. Ivy Alert® Sensing Swabs work by lifting
urushiol from sampled surfaces with surfactant solution
and revealing urushiol on surfaces using the pre-treated
swab tip and developing solution. Use Ivy Alert®
Sensing Swabs to check footwear, clothing, sports gear,
golf clubs, gardening tools, hiking gear or any outdoor
accessory that may have come in contact with or be contaminated
by urushiol. Since Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac
is often difficult to identify by sight, check suspicious
plants in your yard, garden or campsite. This product
will identify as little as 0.001mG/mL of urushiol on
sampled surfaces. However, every individual responds
differently to urushiol exposure and some users may
be more sensitive to urushiol than the Sensing Swab,
so it is possible that users may contract Poison Ivy
rash even with product use. Preventative cleansing of
all surfaces suspected of contact with urushiol is highly
recommended even if no color change is observed. Ivy
Alert® Sensing Swabs do not physically protect
against or remove any skin irritant, nor are they designed
or intended to diagnose, manage, prevent or treat any
medical condition. Swabs are specifically designed to
identify the presence of catecholic urushiol found in
the oil and sap of irritating plants including the Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac
family of plants. Other plant-borne skin irritants exist
and may not be detected. All potential contact surfaces
should be monitored. Safely dispose of product after
use. Store dry. Avoid extreme temperatures.
This package also includes a zip seal bag in case temporary
storage of used swabs is desired. Poison Ivy Sensing
Swabs detect as little as 0.001 mG/mL of urushiol on
sampled surfaces only, skin rashes may occur even with
swab use.
WARNING: Do not use Ivy Alert® products
for any other purpose. Individual swabs contain the
potential irritants isopropyl alcohol, ferric chloride
and cyclodextrin. Always keep used swabs sealed as contact
with solutions may cause eye or skin irritation. Surfactant
solution contains a mild detergent and should be tested
for compatibility with surfaces before use. Adult supervision
advised. SWABS ARE NOT TOYS, KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Do not reuse swabs. Do not take internally. Avoid all
solution contact with eyes, mucosal tissue, broken skin
or existing rashes. First Aid: If exposure to
developing or surfactant solutions occurs, rinse area
with copious amounts of water. Read and follow all warning
statements and instructions. This product has not been
evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration.

| Please read and follow all product label
warnings and instructions. Ivy Alert® swabs and patches detect
physical contact with urushiol to published levels of
sensitivity. Human contact with urushiol can result in
skin rashes ranging from minor redness to blistering outbreaks
requiring clinical attention, depending on an individual's
sensitivity. Urushiol contact may occur through untested
surfaces, therefore users may contract poison ivy rash,
even with product use. Since the proper use of the Ivy
Alert's products is in the hands of the user and every
individual responds to urushiol differently, Ivy Alert's
liability is limited exclusively to product replacement
or refund based on the Ivy Alert® performance guarantee.
No additional guarantees are expressed or implied.
Ivy Alert® swabs and patches do not protect against or remove any
skin irritant, nor are they designed or intended to diagnose,
manage, prevent or treat any medical condition. Contact your
